I'm not sure yet who im going to vote for, but I thought this was pretty inspiring.
Did anyone get the email sent to thousands of people across American about Barack Obama being a terrorist? i thought it was funny. "The Muslims have said they plan on destroying the US from the inside out, what better way to start than at the highest level - through the President of the United States, one of their own!" lol

It was a creed written into the founding documents that declared the destiny of a nation.
Yes we can.
It was whispered by slaves and abolitionists as they blazed a trail toward freedom.
Yes we can. Yes we can.
It was sung by immigrants as they struck out from distant shores
and pioneers who pushed westward against an unforgiving wilderness.
Yes we can. Yes we can.
It was the call of workers who organized;
women who reached for the ballots;
a President who chose the moon as our new frontier;
and a King who took us to the mountain-top and pointed the way to the Promised Land.
Yes we can to justice and equality.
(yes we can, yes we can, yes we can, yes we can…)

Yes we can to opportunity and prosperity.
Yes we can to opportunity and prosperity.
Yes we can heal this nation.
Yes we can repair this world.
Yes we can. Si Se Puede
(yes we can, yes we can, yes we can, yes we can…)

We know the battle ahead will be long,
but always remember that no matter what obstacles stand in our way,
nothing can stand in the way of the power of millions of voices calling for change.
We want change!
(We want change! We want change! We want change…)

We have been told we cannot do this by a chorus of cynics who will only grow louder and more dissonant.
We’ve been asked to pause for a reality check.
We’ve been warned against offering the people of this nation false hope.
But in the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope. We want change!
(We want change! I want change! We want change! I want change…)

The hopes of the little girl who goes to a crumbling school in Dillon are the same as the dreams of the boy who learns on the streets of LA;
we will remember that there is something happening in America;
that we are not as divided as our politics suggests;
that we are one people;
we are one nation;
and together, we will begin the next great chapter in America’s story with three words that will ring from coast to coast;
from sea to shining sea - Yes. We. Can.
(yes we can, yes we can, yes we can, yes we can, yes we can, yes we can, yes we can, yes we can…)

Happy Halloween!

Oct. 31st, 2006 | 05:14 pm

Yesterday I started my first day of training to be a waitress at Razzoo’s.
My trainer said they must have really liked me because I have hardly any experience.
So I am learning a whole lot. The thing I likes most besides how everyone joked around with each other and helped each other out is how fast time flew by. Oh, plus the food its good. I tried gator tail yesterday!

However I didn’t have much time to study last night before I fell asleep.
I was thoroughly exhausted. So, I don’t think I did well on my astronomy test today.

Oh and my gerbil babies are getting bigger and cuter! When you look at them you cant help but squeal or say “awwwww!” So if anyone wants a gerbil sometime soon let me know. hah

Im very happy to say that my Gerbils are proud parents of seven little ones.
They are an adorable and a loving family.
You may think im silly for this, but im so thrilled.
I have secretly been waiting for this ever since I found out Ninja was a girl. Life is a precious thing.

I also have another addition in my life.
His name is Tommy Sunshine my baby water turtle.
I absolutly love turtles. Im not sure why, they dont do much.
Infact they are quite lazy. I will try and post pictures soon.

Also I am sick, and so is callie. Sinus infection we think.
Its always more enjoyable to be sick with your best friend.

home alone.

May. 25th, 2006 | 03:03 pm

I hate to say I need something but some change, some spontaneous moments and some care would be nice right about now. Maybe even a person to just talk to with out bias opinions. I feel very vulnerable & I'm not sure what to do about that. Ah well I always try and keep positive. I don’t like to be in a negative mood. I am working for my dads company under the student internship again this summer and hopefully I can get the scholarship they give out once a year. The pay is great but it can be a bore at times. I cant wait to start because its even worse to be home being lazy.

mood: cheerful cheerful

Well I just got home from Memphis Tennessee and I must say it was a great way to start off my summer break. I was slightly more irritable than normal during the trip but it was a combination of partying, all niters and work that was most likely the reason why. My family got 6th place out of 39 teams on their ribs & I was super exited about that. I’m glad to be back home but I am exhausted and starring at a huge pile of things and knickknacks that I need to unpack or store away & that the last thing I want to do right now.
Hopefully I will see some friends I haven’t seen in a while soon. So don’t be scared, hit me up on my cell and we will hang out.

Update

Apr. 18th, 2006 | 10:57 pm
location: My appartment
mood: cheerful cheerful
music: Family Guy

Today I realized we only have like a month left of school.
I must say I just started really feeling at home here
Yesterday it was like 100 degrees in Arlington
So me and the roomies plus friends when to sunbathe and swim.

Oh and Im sad to announce that my last fish died
I don’t think I will get a fish for a while, they keep dying.
This fish was very special to me though
It was really energetic and would swim excitedly around his tank when I would approach it. So because I was pretty bummed I went to the pet store with really no intention to buy anything but Andrew and I got to looking at the gerbils so we both bought one and their living necessities. They are so cute but I don’t know what to name mine.

Hopefully I can post pictures soon :]

birfday.

I find it hard to write in this stupid thing anymore. Im not trying to sound pitiful but im not sure people read it anyway. Which is fine. My birthday was better than expected. It started out kind of lame on Saturday because I had nothing planned except to hang out at my house. But we eventually got the party going and it was a lot of fun. My only regret was not dancing my ass off. Oh well there will be plenty of other times to dance & dance & dance! [I can hear Callie singing in the shower right now and she sounds pretty.]
Anyway, the only un cool thing about going home this weekend is it flew by WAY to fast. I was having so much fun but had to end it so short. So my birthday was a lot of fun, and thanks to everyone wishing me a happy birthday, it meant a lot to me! Right now I feel unproductive and that needs to change. ta ta

family.

Feb. 19th, 2006 | 05:05 pm
mood: cold cold
music: reggie and the full effect

For the first time in a long time I have felt home sick.
It could be the cold weather that coops me up in my apartment.
I should take this time to read a fun book or paint but I feel un inspired.
I miss my family and my kitties. I have got my new fishy Jude with me now though.
I love that when ever I approach the tank she’s starts swimming really fast, and wags her body back and forth in excitement. Speaking of animals, I heard just recently [some of you may have heard about this] A baby hippopotamus lost its mother during the tsunami, with no other parent around it found a 100 year old mother turtle that adopted her as one of its own. The eat, sleep and swim together. I thought it was so cute.

the end.

Happiness is a warm gun.

Feb. 8th, 2006 | 12:28 am
mood: hyper hyper
music: Led Zepplin

I just saw Of Montreal in concert for free. Free concerts are the best kind of concert.
I was slightly apprehensive because well I had never heard any of the bands before.
So I put faith in my friends Maria, Sarah, and Will and went a long for the fun.
And boy was it a pleasant surprise! So yeah. A successful night I must say. Lots of dancing,.
If you would like to hear a 70’s funk sound slightly modernized then check out Of Montreal
on myspace. I think they have talent. On a sad note Coretta Scott King's funeral was today. Well I guess it isn’t a sad note. She will be reunited with her husband. Ah well back to the plights of the Joad family in the grapes of wrath. Toodles.

Nothing Important.

Feb. 2nd, 2006 | 02:23 pm
mood: busy busy
music: Boy least likely to

So everything has been going peachy. I’m beginning to feel settled again in the college life
But I still find myself to be tired a lot. Finding a job is a lot harder than I ever imagined.
The only times I have gotten jobs was because of the people I knew. I suppose that’s how life goes huh.
Although a lot of the stuff including this computer I’m typing on and the Mp3 player I’m listening too has come from friends. I take there old things and gladly put them to use. I’m blessed to have such great friends. SO my job search continues and I hope to find one very soon. I’m so thankful Callie is here with me now. We help each other out a lot.

I just finished The Great Gatsby again for the 3rd or 4th time. This time I seemed to find more meaning in it then the last. That’s the great thing about books. I particularly thought this one quote was kind of funny though. "The rich get richer and the poor get — children." Well I thought it was funny.

Memory is the retention of, and ability to recall, information, and my sucks.

Jan. 25th, 2006 | 12:19 pm
mood: chipper chipper
music: 30 seconds to Mars

"Speak what you think now in hard words, and tomorrow say what tomorrow thinks in hard words again, though it contradict everything you say today. "Ah, so you shall be sure to be misunderstood." Is it so bad, then, to be misunderstood? Pythagoras was misunderstood, and Jesus and Socrates and Luther and Copericus and Galileo and Newton, and every pure and wise spirit that ever took flesh. To be great is to be misunderstood." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

I think im going to take Callies advice and keep a note pad and pen around me at all times. I genrally think a lot during the day about diffrent things, but when I get home and want to expand on those thoughts and Ideas I can never trully remember them. I think its important to write them down. Why do you think I write blogs? I want to be able to look back on my life and remember the things i thought about or funny stores i enjoyed or even the bad times. I dunno, maybe im weird.

Im slightly scared at the moment, I dont know where my camera is so I cannot post pics of my holiday break. I hope I find it and its safe!

Class

Jan. 18th, 2006 | 06:42 pm
mood: stressed stressed
music: mars volta

So my classes are as follows:
TR
History of the United States 9:30-10:50
American Literature 12:20- 1:50
State and Local Government 2:00- 3:20
MWF
Intro to Psychology 10:00-10:50

I was only able to take 4 classes once again but I’m really happy with my schedule. I can’t complain because I’m in a class with Andrew, Evan, Will, and Jeff. In other news I think its just going to be Callie and I in our apartment so if you want to come visit for a weekend, just let us know! However once again I have no electricity. I took care of the problem by switching the account to my name, so I’m hoping for the best. Don’t sweat the small stuff I keep telling myself.

In an octopus's garden in the shade

Jan. 12th, 2006 | 12:30 am
mood: sick sick
music: beatles

We would sing and dance around
Because we know we can't be found
I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus's garden in the shade

So although I really enjoyed my break, I’m ready to head home.
The neat thing about having no work or school work over the break
Is that I had a lot of time to spend with friends, read, and reflect.

and now it is time for a cough drop and rest!
